Kayak with us at Jigg's Landing!
Another fun adventure awaits the VNC kayakers on the
Braden River at Jigg’s Landing.
Jigg’s Landing Preserve is located on an amazing freshwater reservoir fed by the Braden River. Jigg’s is a boating, birding and fishing haven, ecological and historical tourist attraction.
This approximate 2-hour, guided fresh-water paddle is for kayakers of all skill levels.
The Braden River (at this section) is fairly wide, free of obstacles, and has a slow to moderate current flow. Hence, it is suitable for beginners.
We will launch from a cement boat ramp, paddle upriver amidst scenery of dense tropical flora and river cottages, and then return downriver to the launch site.
Kayaks will be available to rent through Kayak Eco Tours…$35 for a single; $50 for a double.
You will be able to bring your own kayak, and if you do, there is no rental fee.
Please remember to tip the guide if you enjoyed the trip!
Payment is due in cash on the day of the trip.
After the kayak adventure, we will head to the Linger Lodge for lunch (about 3 miles from Jiggs Landing). The Linger Lodge is a restaurant and RV park in Bradenton, on the Northern bank of the Braden River. The Park dates back to 1945, starting as a 100-acre fishing & canoeing campground.
The Lodge with its Old Florida charm is a great place to dine and enjoy the jungle views.
